Full Job Description

Part-time position, 30 hours per week, term time only. Hours to be arranged, but will include some mornings and a full day on Fridays.

Middleton is a vibrant, culturally diverse and very friendly school. There are currently 600 children on roll (rising to 630 in September 2024 when our expansion to a fully 3-form school will be complete), with a further 70 in our part-time Nursery. At our most recent inspection in February 2023, Ofsted judged us to be 'Good'. The report commented that "pupils are polite and considerate of one another. Pupils value their learning and know it is important. They are respectful to adults and adults are respectful to them." We have accreditation as a UNICEF 'Rights Respecting Schools', recognising the importance that we place on creating an inclusive and caring school community; we are currently the only school in Nottingham to hold the Gold Award. We also hold the International Schools Award. We are fortunate to have extensive grounds providing children with excellent opportunities for outdoor learning and creative play - with the beautiful surroundings of Wollaton Hall and Park on our
doorstep too.

This is a part-time position based in our busy school office. We would be interested to hear from anyone, whatever career stage they may be at, who believes they meet the following criteria:

  • Have previous experience of working in a busy office environment

  • Possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - knowledge of the Arbor MIS system would be advantageous but is not essential (training can be provided)

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills

  • Has a caring, nurturing approach in developing positive relationships that help build children's confidence and self-esteem.

  • Can work collaboratively and constructively as part of a team, with good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A positive, solution-driven attitude, showing flexibility and initiative in their approach to the role.

  • Actively participate in regular training and development

  • Maintain confidentiality and an understanding of data protection

  • In return, Middleton can offer:
  • Happy, friendly and enthusiastic children who enjoy coming to school and learning.

  • A supportive and vibrant school community.

  • A caring ethos that values everyone and where kindness and respect are a priority.

  • A team of hardworking and dedicated staff who are highly supportive of one another.

  • A commitment from school leaders and governors to your well-being and professional development.
