Full Job Description

  • Collaborate with the Alternative Investment teams to analyse and prepare feasibility studies and business cases for new products to be submitted to the relevant Product Committees.


  • Product structuring and design involve transforming product ideas into product designs, defining structural features (e.g., domicile, legal/regulatory structure, liquidity, investment objectives/policies, and pricing), identifying critical design issues, developing options/solutions, and ensuring appropriate ESG classification and disclosures.


  • Secure budget approvals for projects from senior management and ensure projects adhere to expected budgets.


  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, product-related content (in collaboration with the Product Lawyer), and approvals of fund prospectuses and client communications.


  • Lead the presentation and facilitate the review and approval of new products with the relevant Boards.

    Prior experience in Alternative Investment product design and development is strongly preferred. Some prior experience of working at or for an established asset manager is crucial for this role. This may be at through a law firm or other professional services firm.


  • Familiarity with the ESG regulatory environment is preferred, including knowledge of sustainability risks.


  • Previous project management experience would be desirable.


  • A proactive independent thinker who has effective written and verbal communication skills.


  • Highly organised coupled with proficiency in using MS Excel.

    We are currently seeking to recruit an Alternatives Product Development Manager. The role is a part of the Alternatives Product team which leads the research, analysis and development for all Alternative products created by HSBC Asset Management globally.
