Full Job Description

You will work as part of a busy procurement team, and will be responsible for ownership of your defined supplier base, ensuring all system data is up to date and reviewed in a timely manner, including identifying business risks with an action plan to resolve the risk or escalation to the purchasing manager, if necessary, on a weekly basis. Forecast sales trends and use qualitative data to make judgements on future orders to ensure inventory levels are maintained without risk to the business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Purchase email enquiries for defined suppliers.


  • Review and action MRP messages for defined suppliers in a timely manner.


  • Management of the End-to-end process for Inter-Group Product & Spares Purchases


  • Responsible for inbound freight requirements of the business with correct HS Codes.


  • Review inventory, Identify and action risk areas until resolved.


  • Align all supplier order books on a weekly basis.


  • Coordinate deliveries of products from supply partners.


  • Ensure agreed supplier price lists are correct on IFS system in a timely manner.


  • Work with supply chain to reduce lead times and inventory levels without increasing risk to business.


  • Ensuring your supply base adheres to quality, service, and best practice initiatives.


  • Run weekly meetings for all supply partners and maintain action plans.


  • Support the purchasing administrator when required.


  • Upholding purchasing procedures.


  • Effective communication throughout the business and with business partners


  • Support department in other areas as and when required.

  • Be able to work independently, as well as collaborating with the team.


  • Part-Qualified CIPS or interested in undertaking qualification.


  • Required Experience
  • Previous role as buyer with + 3 years relevant experience.


  • Working knowledge of import procedures and familiarisation with INCOTERMS, Buying: 2 years (preferred)

  • Importing/Incoterms: 2 years (preferred)

    The business is supported by a dedicated sales, technical and warehouse function. The Company's central purchasing and marketing departments are also based out of the Derby office.

    Pay: £32,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
