Full Job Description

This is a key role for the business and will work with external stakeholders on the proactive development of integrated catchment solutions. The role will optimise the way we address risks and seek opportunities across catchments., You'll be responsible for working as part of the county leadership team to implement the integrated catchment approach to exploit business opportunities. You'll also be responsible for, This role requires occasional out of hours working aligned to the operational needs of the business including participation in a standby rota.

To be considered for this role you'll need to be an experienced professional with a proven track record, preferably educated to HNC level (or equivalent) and an experienced line manager. With a good level of understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework surrounding the water industry. You'll also need:

  • Managerial and leadership skills are critical for this role to deliver performance through a team of people

  • The ability to motivate a team and deliver high performance across a 24/7 service is fundamental to this role

  • Good understanding of operations and maintenance strategies

  • Effective communication skills able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders

  • A good level understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework surrounding the water industry

  • Analytical skills and the ability to drive solutions to a wide range of technical and managerial problems, whilst also knowing when to stop and ask for help from support colleagues

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage relationships across UU and externally, and influence key leaders at a senior level across the business

  • Resilience and ability to cope with pressure and demands of managing several multi-disciplinary teams, concurrently within large programmes of capital works

  • A good understanding of water and wastewater asset design, construction, operation and serviceability

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to inspire, influence and successfully deliver targets through others when direct line management isn't available is an essential requirement for the role

  • Flexibility and adaptability to be able to respond rapidly to unexpected events, having the ability to develop creative solutions to problems

  • An interest and awareness of wider business issues

  • Delivery of key targets and objectives within the limits of available resources.

  • Excellent leadership skills to enable the achievement of results through application of indirect management skills.
