To carry out reception and administration duties.
To inspect, clean and sterilise instruments for use in a dental clinic when required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Administrative Duties
+ Greeting patients.
+ Provide general reception duties as requested.
+ Book appointments using the Dentally patient record system.
+ Collect and record patient charges
+ Filing and scanning patient records.
+ Answer telephone calls from the general public and healthcare professionals.
+ Undertake training required to ensure quality of service to agreed standards
Clinical Duties
+ To inspect, clean and sterilise reusable instruments for use in a dental clinic using automated equipment to nationally agreed standards.
+ To operate a washer disinfector and autoclave.
+ To accurately pack and record sterilised instruments.
+ Daily maintenance of the cleaning equipment and care environment.
+ Obtain and provide data as required
+ Complete stock and date checks of dental materials and dental equipment as required, Reference Information: Please ensure your application is submitted with referees who can verify your employment/ education history over the last three years and include valid business email addresses for them. Salary Expectations: The Trust pays staff in line with national NHS Terms and Conditions. Relevant experience may be considered when salary offers are made.

The post is for 18 hours per week within a working pattern of Monday and Thursday 8.30-17.00 with 1 hour for lunch and Friday 13.30-16.30.
Experience using Dentally or other dental patient software would be an advantage, although full training will be provided if required.
Experience in the reprocessing and sterilisation of dental instruments, dental decontamination processes and knowledge of HTM01-05 would also be advantageous but not essential as again, full training will be provided.
A willingness to be vaccinated against blood borne viruses, if not already vaccinated, is essential to the post.

Applications are invited for a 6 months fixed term role within the Specialised Dental Service.
The role is a mixed role, providing patient facing reception duties within our dental clinic but will also include the reprocessing of reusable dental equipment and decontamination of the dental environment. The role is based at our dental clinic in Leasowe but the successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly across all sites when required and should also be able to move around between different sites during the working day as required.
On occasion, administrative support may also be provided at our dental clinics or dental office.
