Machine Operator

You will work within a team at our manufacturing site in Andover in a growing business, developing a range of skills initially as a Trainee Machine Operator. As process skills are mastered, the hourly pay increases., The successful candidate will be given a detailed training plan that will offer a clear path of progression including increases in pay. The responsibilities of a Reedbut Trainee Machine Operator include:

· Learning to operate manufacturing machinery that includes manual handling and heavy lifting.

Necessary Skills

· Prior experience operating machinery in a shift working manufacturing environment.

· Good IT skills.

Preferred skills

· Experience of batch manufacturing process management.

· Experience of die cutting, flexographic printing, gluing and stitching processes.

· Knowledge and experience of BRCGS Food certified working environment.

The business has three sites; Milton Keynes the head office, Andover in Hampshire, Strood in Kent, and is one of the leading independent sheet plants in the UK. The basic annual leave entitlement is 20 working days plus 8 statutory bank holiday (rising to 25 days plus 8 statutory days over time)

Starting rate hourly rate of £13.00 for a Trainee Operator.

As skills are acquired and performance improves, pay increases in steps adding up to £2.40 extra per hour to pay. Skills and training are reviewed frequently. Annual profit share bonus and this could be worth a further £1500.
