Occupational Therapy Manager

1. Ensure the delivery of Special Educational Needs and Disability Service within Lincolnshire in accordance with legislative requirements, all relevant policies and procedures and agreed performance targets. Identify requirements and opportunities for improvement and change in services. 2. Take the strategic lead role for Special Educational Needs Children with Disabilities Occupational Therapy, ensuring delivery of the service in accordance with legislative requirements, all relevant policies and procedures and agreed performance targets 3. Contribute to the development of and gain support for, the Council, Directorate and Services shared values, vision, policies, objectives, and strategies. 4. Responsible for monitoring and evaluating important policy, service practice and provision not only for their locality team and strategic lead service area but as part of matrix management arrangements across the whole County. 5. Review services in accordance with the Councils Business Planning
arrangements, involving children, young people, their families, and professional agencies as required. Implement changes as a result of the review. 6. Provide advice and support to the service in relation to highly complex cases; respond to complaints from children, young people, and their families, supporting staff in resolving matters and representing the Local Authority as required. 7. Implement quality assurance systems, including the monitoring and review of Occupational therapy strategic lead and ensure these comply with the Councils Business and Organisational Strategy, the Directorates service plan and statutory requirements. 8. Ensure all staff work to safeguard children and promote their welfare and are aware of and work to Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) expectations. 9. Overall responsibility for ensuring children, young people, their families, and professional agencies are fully included and able to participate (as appropriate) in the assessment processes
including EHC planning and provision; Team Around the Child; Child in Need; Child Protection and Children Looked After Plans. Ensure that childrens and young peoples needs are effectively assessed, and services delivered according to assessed needs. 10. Be responsible for the provision, delivery, management of the services and allocation of resources decisions ensuring these are appropriate for need and within prescribed standards of good practice, as delegated by the Service Manager. Be responsible for delegated budgets and ensure they are used in accordance with financial regulations. 11 Lead a team of staff (15+), including recruitment, induction, training, supervision and personal development, absence management, retention, grievance /discipline/ capability, succession planning and workforce planning. 12. Be responsible for the specification of services required to meet children, young people and familys needs for the purpose of commissioning services through contract with service
providers. Lead, manage and negotiate contracts and agreements with, and provide advice and support to, internal and external providers of services 13. By way of audit and other quality assurance methods identify and advise the Directorate of any issues/findings that require attention, change or modification to ensure the continued effective delivery of safe and robust services to children and families. 14. Develop, co-ordinate and support project management groups, contract compliance groups and other associated advisory and management groups including Childrens Trust Arrangements.
