Full Job Description

  • Contribute to the delivery of the MBS sales and margin targets whilst maintaining a value proposition for the customer

  • Contribute to a proactive culture of H&S, ensuring everyone in the team complies with the Company HSE policies and procedures.

  • Using the information systems provided, proactively identify and address 1)Zero spending branch accounts, 2) Declining branch customers, 3)Slow moving & dead stock, 4) Opportunities to increase basket spend e.g. upselling, impulse buys, 5) Opportunities to grow market share

  • Set a high standard of customer service within the branch, thereby sustaining customer satisfaction and loyalty: 1) Maintain direct relationships with key MBS branch accounts; liaise proactively with customers on a day to day basis to fulfil their requirements, 2) Understand and solve customers' problems, 3) Identify and address areas where service can be improved.

  • Apply various sales skills to capitalise on commercial opportunities through negotiation of prices.

  • Pro-actively seek new business by targeting a combination of Myers Building Supplies existing customer base and prospective customers.

  • Effectively deal with quotations for products; compiling information on the desired products including prices from external suppliers and ensure all quotations are followed up to a conclusion.

  • Liaise between the suppliers, the branch and customers to efficiently answer general enquiries concerning deliveries and production.

  • In liaison with the Category Manager and Stock team, manage the stock profile, min/max levels, stock counting and stock availability to ensure that there is always a credible range

  • Manage the merchandising, liaising with the relevant suppliers for any equipment, POS and practical support

  • Ensure that the external and central sales teams are kept informed of any relevant customers/projects.

  • Attend meetings and group discussions where required

  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by the Company from time to time, as instructed by or under the direction of your line manager.

    We have an opportunity for an experienced Plumbing, Heating & Bathrooms Sales Advisor at our branch in Huddersfield on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will work both face to face and over the phone selling a full range of Plumbing, Bathroom and Heating products to both trade and DIY customers
