Full Job Description

This is a full-time, permanent vacancy working a split shift from 7am-10.45 then 2.45-6.30pm, Monday - Friday. Working under the guidance of the Headteacher and Business Manager, the Premises Manager is responsible for ensuring that the school site remains safe and secure for our children, staff and visitors.,

  • Main keyholder for the school premises, responsible for unlocking and locking up daily and during school holidays when needed. Some late evening lock ups may be required to cover school events.

  • Responding to out of hours security and fire alarms.

  • Upkeep of the whole school premises and grounds.

  • Health and Safety monitoring and testing and oversight of inspections to ensure that the school remains compliant, and that all statutory requirements are met in a timely manner.

  • Carry out minor repairs to the property, fixtures, fittings and equipment to include general decorating.

  • Oversight and management of the school cleaning team (which may include some cleaning duties to cover absence).

  • Engagement of contractors to complete premises works on site. Liaison with any contractors engaged to ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met and work is completed to a high standard.

  • General porterage duties, setting up of rooms for assemblies, meetings and events.

  • Acceptance and movement of deliveries.

  • Attendance at staff meetings and training as appropriate.
