Full Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the design and execution of the recruitment strategy for technical and skilled talent across engineering and enabling functions within the region.

Partnering with the business, you will understand the current and future hiring requirements and effectively implement the appropriate strategies to source the right talent, at the tight time. You will provide effective recruitment advice and guidance to your stakeholders and come up with innovative solutions for attracting the best talent.

Responsibilities

· Build relationships with hiring managers to understand the current and future needs of the business and take ownership for the regional workforce plans.

· Develop and execute hiring plans to ensure the attraction and employment of right people, right time with right skills through campaign coordination and managing individual recruitment requirements up to the point of joining the business.

· Ensure that all campaigns are delivered within agreed timescales to deliver the required number of candidates for operational roles to meet the workforce plan.

· Utilise sourcing and attraction tools to build a volume candidate pipeline.

· Conduct initial screening of candidates via telephone to assess eligibility and suitability.

· Proactively manage candidate throughputs daily, identify and deliver appropriate interventions to address dips or peaks in candidate numbers against defined requirements.

· Manage all candidate communications ensuring all candidate correspondence is timely, accurately, and professionally written.

· Advise hiring managers on appropriate selection strategies, including the use of psychometric and ability assessments.

· Manage external recruitment partners and monitor their performance against expectations.

· Work closely with the Early Careers Manager to identify requirements for apprentices as part of the analysis of future business requirements.

· Manage the recruitment of early careers talent programmes.

· Continually look for opportunities for improvement and efficiencies through systems and processes.

· Provide reports on recruitment activity within your area or across the team as required.

· Contribute through own and team performance to the achievement of Recruitment KPI targets and SLAs.

· Monitor source effectiveness across all tools and report on cost avoidance and spend where required

· Ensure all candidates receive a positive experience of Arriva.

· Ensure all recruitment activity and record keeping is compliant with employment legislation and Data Protection.

· Previous experience within an internal recruitment role and a proven track record of managing the end-to-end recruitment process within a fast-paced recruitment environment.

· Experience of managing technical, engineering or head office vacancies.

· Track record of enabling cost avoidance through the direct sourcing of candidates and reducing the use of external partners.

· Experience of reporting against core recruitment KPIs including time to hire, source effectiveness and cost per hire.

· Confident with online and offline candidate search methodologies including CV databases, job boards and social media.

· Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.

· Attention to detail and professional written and verbal communication skills.

· Continuous improvement mindset.

· Knowledge of employment legislation in relation to recruitment.

· Experience of work with recruitment systems and standard computer packages.

· Full UK driving license as travel to depots and careers events would be required.
