Full Job Description

Your new firm is as well known and established regional accountancy practice based in Liverpool City Centre. A 5 partner firm offering a range of services including accounts, audit, advisory, tax and corporate finance. Across a few key service lines they have 45 professionals working for the firm, with plans to grow in the future. Due to ongoing growth in their corporate tax team they are now looking to bring in an experienced corporate tax professional to help run the corporate tax portfolio.

Your new role
In your new role you will report directly into the Corporate Tax Partner. Managing a portfolio of mainly SME / OMB clients (with some large groups), you be responsible for delivering compliance work. You will work closely with the accounts/audit team reviewing and submitting tax returns. Typically your client base be businesses with turnovers from £5-£15 million. As well as working on tax compliance you will also get the opportunity to advise clients on various advisory projects including R&D, transactions, restructuring and share schemes to name a few. As part of this role you will also be involved with management of staff, initially mentoring and coaching a Corporate Tax Assistant who will support you with the tax portfolio, with the team likely to grow in the next 2-3 years.

To be successful in this role you need to come from a strong corporate tax background, having worked with UK based OMBs / SMEs providing tax compliance services. You should be ACA/ATT/CTA qualified and be looking for a step up in terms of responsibility.

    In return for this role you will receive a competitive salary ranging from £40,000 - £60,000 depending on what level you join the firm. You will also be able to work from home 2-3 days per week and operate on an overall flexible working scheme. Also included is 20 + holidays (depending on level), pension, cycle to work, firm wide events and a dress for your day policy.
