The Role:

Domain Expertise: Leverage your in-depth knowledge of commercial insurance and underwriting to proactively identify requirements. As a subject matter expert, you'll play a pivotal role in not just gathering requirements, but envisioning them, drawing from your rich domain knowledge.

Creative Problem-Solving: Bring your creativity to the fore by conceptualizing innovative solutions tailored to underwriters' needs. Actively engage in collaborative brainstorming sessions, contributing imaginative ideas that push the boundaries of conventional underwriting processes.

Client-Centric Solutions: Work closely with clients to understand their pain points and aspirations. Use your expertise to offer solutions that address their challenges, enhancing their efficiency and effectiveness in underwriting tasks.

Collaborative Innovation: Collaborate seamlessly with Product Management, Engineering, Consulting, Sales and UX teams. Your role is not just about gathering requirements; it's about co-creating solutions with diverse teams, ensuring our products align with market demands and user expectations. Through these partnerships you will create personas, user journeys, wireframes, and understand flows and use cases. Delivering a product that is intuitive and user-friendly.

Market Understanding: Work closely with the Product Management team to deeply understand the market, competitors, end-users, and business workflows. Use this knowledge to influence the product vision and feature-level roadmap. Act as a bridge between market realities and product development, delivering on the strategy and vision while actively shaping it based on your insights.

Thought Leadership: Attend industry events and conferences, sharing your expertise and representing WTW as a thought leader in the commercial insurance space. Contribute to panel discussions, presentations, and whitepapers, showcasing your deep understanding of industry nuances.

Product Testing: Use the product from an underwriter's perspective to test new functionality, ensuring it aligns with the underwriters' needs and enhances usability.

Industry Expertise: Proven experience working in a commercial lines insurance environment is essential. You should have an in-depth understanding of the role of underwriters and their day-to-day activities, enabling you to empathize with their needs and challenges.

Analytical Proficiency: You should have a track record of working on complex systems, performing thorough analysis, understanding the importance of user journeys and requirements from the customer's perspective. Your ability to dissect intricate processes is vital in this role.

Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must. You should be able to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely, facilitating effective communication with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Attention to Detail: A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards are essential. While being meticulous, you should also demonstrate pragmatism and the ability to deliver results at a swift pace.

Educational Qualifications: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a relevant discipline is preferred. Your educational background demonstrates your foundational knowledge and expertise in technical and analytical fields.
