Full Job Description

First Class Support provides academic support to students in receipt of disabled student allowance (DSA).

This role is based at the University of Bristol, supporting a student studying Engineering Mathematics.

The role will begin in the new academic year September 2024.

Trainee notetakers are recruited at entry level and must undertake our in-house L3 notetaking course (distant learning course). Once qualified, you will be able to support hearing and visually impaired students, after passing this training your hourly salary will increase from £12 an hour to £16 an hour.

You will produce an accurate and legible record of the content of lectures, seminars, discussions, off-campus events etc. in the student's preferred style and format.

Notes should contain pertinent information from the session which may include diagrams and may reference any hand-outs. The notetaker must hand over notes in the agreed format within a specified time frame.

You will have experience writing notes at a further education/university level, it will be beneficial if you have prior experience working with students with specific learning difficulties or hearing/vision impairment. You will have quick and accurate typing skills.
