Full Job Description
- Preparing, Cooking and Presenting classically inspired dishes using high quality local seasonal ingredients alongside our kitchen team.
- Learning all sections of the kitchen and developing time management skills with progression to running your own section.
- Developing food safety skills and compliance procedures.
Functional skills at level 1 and/or 2 in English and maths as required (exemptions apply), Communication skills, Attention to detail, Team working, Creative, Good timekeeping, Good sense of humour, Love for food and eating, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 9 to 2 or A to E) Essential - to E) Essential
There will be a day release on a Monday at the Quantock Restaurant, which is based at the Taunton campus of Bridgwater and Taunton College., The Bittescombe Inn is a newly opened pub situated on the edge of the Exmoor National Park. The Kitchens are led by head chefs Olivier Certain and Nick Pyle who showcase the best of estate reared and grown produce and other high quality local suppliers. In our short time of being open we have already gained both local and national recognition, we have a vacancy for someone to join our team and develop alongside our ambitious team.
You could reduce your training time, or finish your apprenticeship faster, if you have relevant prior learning or experience. This could be relevant: - training
