Full Job Description

Role: Compliance Assistant (12-month FTC), Liverpool.

What is the purpose of the role?

To assist the IW&I business in meeting its Anti Money Laundering regulatory obligations when opening certain new client accounts and when carrying out periodic reviews of its existing clients.,

  • To assist the Account Opening team with on-boarding enquiries in relation to the Investec Wealth & Investment business, in addition to assisting with the processing of periodic reviews of existing clients.

  • The Compliance Assistant will be responsible for the following activities in relation to the Account Opening Team within the Compliance Department:

  • Work as part of the Account Opening team to review requests for new accounts in line with the firm's policies and procedures and regulatory requirements to ensure that clients are on boarded in a timely manner.

  • Process screening requests for PEPs/. Sanctions and negative media as part of the onboarding and periodic review process.

  • The assistant will be required to follow through any reasonable enquiries to ensure that we do not facilitate any activities relating to financial crime.

  • This may include report writing and working with the wider AML/financial crime monitoring programme and would include the monitoring of existing accounts and the review of exception reports.

  • Maintain a professional relationship with both the business and external parties.

  • Carry out any investigation and liaise with the relevant parties to ensure remediation of any issues identified.

    Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Good technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Financial Services experience is desirable.

  • Exposure of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) would be advantageous.

  • Contract length: 12 months

    Pay: £24,000.00-£32,039.61 per year
