Full Job Description
- Engaging children in learning and play activities, and developing their knowledge, where necessary
- Interact with the children positive
- Following planning and the daily routine
- Thinking of new ideas and activities

- Keeping and updating records (in time)

- Attending staff meetings
- Keeping the environment tidy, setting up the preschool at the beginning and end of the day
- Keeping children safe- be willing to attend safeguarding training.
- Being able to follow and have a good knowledge of the settings policies and procedures
- Attend regular training to ensure you have the most up-to-date knowledge
- Promote positive Management of Behaviour in the nursery environment, establish routines and boundaries to ensure the safety and good behaviour of the children
- To be a positive role model to all staff and always conduct yourselves in an appropriate professional manner
The candidate should be able to care, interact and communicate with children aged 2 to 4 years. We would expect the candidate to in time become a key-worker for 1-2 children, observing them and monitoring them alongside their mentor and be able to provide updates on their progress to parents., Level 2 Functional skills in Maths & English if required - A Level 3 Early Year Educator qualification, which is graded by an independently assessed end-point assessment
- Mandatory college attendance at Peterborough is required 1 day per month, Communication skills, Organisation skills, Team working, Initiative, Motivated, Fun, GCSE or equivalent English Literature and/or Language (Grade 4/C) Essential

Barnack Pre-School cares for children aged 2-4 years, in a small village close to Stamford. We are located within the Primary School grounds; however, we are not part of the school. We have up to a maximum of 20 children in our setting each day. We aim to provide a great start for children, by offering appropriate play, education and care facilities in our warm and nurturing environment. We have a large outdoor space for the children to play in too.
£10,816.00
For a candidate who makes good progress, we may increase the pay halfway through the apprenticeship to reflect their outstanding work within the setting.
