Full Job Description

We are looking for a Handy person to join our Independent Living Team here at South Holland District Council. You will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of communal areas and our tenanted properties.

You will liaise with a variety of people including tenants and advise them where necessary and, contractors to ensure services are delivered to required standards, so communication skills are key. All work carried out must meet the requirements of the Health and Safety act and any concerns must be reported as per Council policy.

You must have previous maintenance experience as a key part of the role will be to carry out a range of handy person services. These may include but not limited to:

Minor repairs to kitchen units
Fitting and replacing locks
Unblocking sinks, basins and baths,
Fitting shelves and assembling flat pack furniture,
Hanging curtains and changing light bulbs.

This is a full time, front facing role that will require daily travel throughout the South Holland District most days, therefore the ability to drive is essential.
