Full Job Description

RBH currently have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Health & Safety - someone to provide expert specialist advice and leadership to promote a positive health and safety culture and enable us to comply with the requirements of all statutory health and safety legislation., We are looking for someone to:

  • Take responsibility for the development and delivery of RBH's Health and Safety (H&S) Strategy, ensuring positive outcomes for customers, colleagues and the business.

  • Take accountability for the development and delivery of policies and procedures, management systems, risk profiles and gap analysis.

  • Ensure there is a robust, regular, and comprehensive programme of H&S audits and inspections delivered across RBH's premises, systems and work activities.

  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance to the Executive Leadership Team and Board.

  • Maintain, through effective leadership, a highly competent, professional, and engaged team, committed to the highest standards of health and safety advice and support.

  • Promote a positive health and safety culture, driving performance through innovation and best practice.

    A degree or equivalent Health & Safety qualification (i.e. NEBOSH).

  • A demonstrable track record of leading a health and safety function, within a diverse and complex organisation.

  • Experience of leading a highly competent team, being able to evidence high levels of engagement.

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation and the implementation of policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of construction and CDM/Building Safety Act responsibilities.

  • Understand occupational health and safety issues within a multi-disciplined organisation.

  • Experience of managing budgets.

  • Experience of completing health and safety management audits against ISO 45001 and implementing action plan to meet audit findings.

  • Knowledge of pre-qualification and engagement of effective contractor management.

  • Experience of developing and implementing health and safety IT solutions, data systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to produce documents to a professional and accurate standard.
