Full Job Description

We are looking for a Logistics Manager to join our busy and growing organisation. The Logistics Manager will oversee all operational activities within their value stream including the leading and development of employees and achievement of Logistics targets and objectives, inlcuding the monitoring and improvement of OTIF performance, ensuring our customer receive their order right first time, every time.,

  • Leading a team of up to 30 people, you will be responsible for the fulfillment of products, physical distribution, and warehouse.

  • You will lead and direct the above teams to achieve the appropriate SLAs, ensuring that all performance targets are achieved and, ideally, exceeded.

  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, and transportation.

  • Maintain the Forklift Fleet, including daily safety checks & regular Maintenance

  • Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.

  • Liaise and negotiate with transport providers.

  • Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.

  • Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments.

  • Resolve any arising problems or complaints.

  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.

  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.

  • Comply with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.

  • Manage warehouse processes to ensure the accuracy of stock records and other reported data (eg KPIs, daily dashboard)

  • Oversee a regime of ongoing and periodic stock counts to ensure accuracy of all stock data.

  • Take overall responsibility for all Health and Safety matters within the warehouse environment.

  • Ensure the warehouse is adequately resourced with the correct structure of permanent headcount and with appropriate skillsets.

  • Ensure staff are developed such that the organization remains flexible to changes in the demands put upon it.

  • Ensure clear channels of communication between the warehouse and the Sales Team to ensure issues are identified and remedied speedily such that the Sales Team has maximum confidence in the ability of the logistics function.

  • Track and manage the error rates to drive them down to the appropriate benchmarks, with monthly reporting in place.

  • 5+ years' experience of running physical distribution operation (incl. warehouse and logistics)

  • Proven management experience

  • Excellent communication skills and follow through, burning sense of urgency.

  • Knowledge of warehouse systems and processes

  • Ability to motivate warehouse staff and drive efficiency in all aspects.

  • Experience of running a pick and pack operation


  • Desirable experience/skills/qualifications:
  • Health & Safety qualification e.g., IOSH Managing Safely

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing techniques such as 5s, 6 sigma, SMED, TPM and OEE and how to implement

  • Prior usage of Barcoding Systems

  • Warehouse Management Systems
