Full Job Description

We have a fantastic new opportunity available for a Project Coordinator to join our friendly team at Wokingham Borough Council, on a 9 Month Fixed Term Contract. (Substantive part time hours can be considered as well as secondments).

In your role as Project Coordinator, you will help us deliver Multiply, an innovative new numeracy project aimed at helping adults to improve their ability to understand and use maths in daily life. You will arrange maths based courses in the community and with employers. This will include marketing, venue bookings, communication with learners and tutors and data recording. You will also engage with our target learners to encourage and enable them to access provision.

The post is a hybrid post with the office base of Shute End, Wokingham and occasional requirements to be at courses delivered at a variety of venues across the borough.,

  • To co-ordinate and manage the Wokingham Multiply programme and supporting the delivery of courses.

  • To work with a range of existing partners across Wokingham and identify and create new partnerships with schools, community organisations, employers and opportunity providers, the voluntary and community sector, local colleges and opportunity providers to develop and implement maths courses to improve adult numeracy.

  • To develop and maintain a positive relationship with learners, employers, partners and stakeholders, Whilst this is a fixed term contract appointment, for anyone already employed by Wokingham Borough Council this would be classed as a secondment if successful. Therefore, the usual permission requests for secondments apply and you must speak to your line manager in the first instance before applying.

    English and Maths qualification at level 2 or above (GCSE 4 or C Functional Skills level 2).

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across a wide and diverse range of stakeholders.

  • Understanding of the barriers which can prevent adult learners from engaging in lifelong learning and how to overcome these with engagement activities.
